What is Hypnosis ?

Here’s the revised version with a few adjustments for clarity and flow:

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. Everyday trance states occur when we’re immersed in a good book, driving a familiar route without noticing, praying or meditating, or engaging in monotonous or creative tasks. Our awareness of our surroundings exists on a spectrum, shifting between our external environment and our inner consciousness.

Is Hypnotherapy Dangerous?

Hypnotherapy is a safe and effective procedure when performed by a trained professional. It’s not mind control or brainwashing, and your therapist cannot make you do anything embarrassing or against your will.

Hypnotherapy Misconceptions

Misconceptions regarding hypnosis are still widespread, although they are increasingly fading. Stage hypnosis demonstrations have contributed to the dread of losing control. Volunteers may appear to be "spellbound" by the stage hypnotist. Some people believe that the participants will do anything the hypnotist says. In fact, Most people will not respond well to stage hypnosis, and those who do will only do so under the right circumstances.

Hypnosis is guided by your hypnotist or hypnotherapist, yet it is something you perform for yourself. You cannot be coerced into doing something against your will. You will not expose any information that you prefer to keep private Instead of relinquishing power, a complete number of hypnotic sessions can assist a person in regaining control of their life.

What Can Hypnotherapy Offer You?

Besides feelings of bliss, joy, or euphoria, using hypnotic states to regulate the subconscious mind can lead to significant physiological changes and extraordinary results. Double-blind suggestibility studies have demonstrated the remarkable power of the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy can address a wide range of issues, from stress management and trauma to even assisting with childbirth.

Hypnotic techniques such as relaxation, dissociation, and visualization can help relieve pain, cure phobias, enhance brain performance, and improve overall well-being, among many other benefits.

As with any concern, a professional hypnotherapist works holistically to achieve long-term results. This includes addressing factors such as lifestyle, stress, emotions, personality traits, underlying trauma, and potential secondary gains that may be linked to the issue.

Face to Face Meeting

Once you’re settled in the comfortable, homey session space at my office and have completed the required paperwork, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and discuss the reasons that brought you in. When we’re ready, the hypnosis session will begin. You’ll make yourself as comfortable as you like, and I’ll guide you into a peaceful, hypnotic state. My voice, trained in hypnotic techniques, will help you relax deeply. In this state, your powerful subconscious mind will absorb suggestions specifically tailored to help you achieve your goals.

At the end of the session, I’ll encourage your subconscious to embrace the beneficial suggestions, use them in your best interest, and release any ideas that don’t serve you. When you're ready, I will gently and positively guide you out of hypnosis.

Afterward, you should feel relaxed and rejuvenated, as though you’ve had a restful nap.

Virtual or Phone Session

Before scheduling your hypnosis session, we’ll have a phone or video call to discuss your concerns. I will then design a session specifically for you. At the scheduled time, I’ll contact you, and after a brief discussion, we’ll begin the hypnosis.

For these sessions, it's best to use earbuds or a headset so you can relax without holding the phone. Make yourself comfortable by sitting or lying down on a couch, bed, or recliner with a cushion. Since your body temperature may change during hypnosis, you might want to have a blanket or throw nearby.

While virtual hypnosis is highly effective, I personally prefer in-person sessions, as many subtle cues can be missed in a virtual setting. However, if you’re unable to attend in person, virtual hypnosis remains a great alternative, offering the same therapeutic benefits from the comfort of your own home.

Always remember, whether the session is in person or virtual, you are fully aware of what’s being said and how the session is progressing. Hypnosis is more about heightened focus than a loss of awareness.
